摘要

One-dimensional InN/In2O3 peapod nanostructures were fabricated by thermally oxidizing InN nanowires under controlled conditions based on differential thermogravimetric analysis. With respect to the InN core/In2O3 shell composite material, the preferred crystal orientation of InN [ 0002]/In2O3 [ 222] is maintained during the oxidation process. Further oxidation of the composite materials results in the formation of In2O3 nanowires or nanobelts which exhibit geometrical shape and size similar to those of the original InN counterparts. The present work indicates that thermal oxidation of III nitrides promises an easy and controllable approach to fabricating special structures such as composite, even complex architecture via conformal conversion.
