Be on the lookout this year for resistant weeds and weed shifts that could sneak up on you next year. With so much glyphosate-ready technology out today, it is tempting for growers to believe their weed problems are in the past. But, as the song says, "It ain't necessarily so." N.C. State University weed specialist Alan York says growers need to be aware that there have been some cases where Roundup- or glyphosate-resistant weeds have cropped up. Also, as more glyposate is used, there is the ever-present potential for weed shifts, particularly in no-till fields.
