Diverse cotton operations call for different harvest equipment. Maybe in your great-grandfather's time, everyone harvested cotton pretty much the same - in a sack. Nowadays, the large size of many cotton operations - especially in the Southwest - demands the equipment to get lint harvested rapidly. Certain varieties of cotton need specific harvest machinery too. Vastly different approaches to growing cotton also mean adapting harvesting equipment to do the job. Steve Moore comes under the first example. He grows about 2,400 acres of cotton and wants to get it harvested in a timely manner at Inadale, Texas.
