Dry weather in several of the world's most important tea producing regions caused a dip in global tea production in the first three months of 2009. This has helped keep international tea prices firm at a time when prices of many other commodities arefalling in response to lower international demand. India, Sri Lanka and Kenya have all reported lower production levels so far this year, while most 'second tier' tea producing nations have seen output either fall or flatten out.
