摘要

The main objective of this experiment was to find out whether tissue culture could be done successfully at home without using a Laminar Flow and a Growth Chamber. Twenty Bambusa bambos (L.) Voss seeds were cultured in modified Murashige and Skoog media on July1,2003 in this author's home lab in Kathmandu, Nepal. Nine seeds germinated with healthy shoots and roots, four didn't germinate, and seven test tubes were infected by fungal genus Alternaria. The shoots, roots, culms, and leaves developed verywell in nine plantlets in coconut saw dust. This experiment has confirmed that in-vitro propagation can successfully be done at the grass root level in the rural areas of the developing countries without using a Laminar Flow and a Growth Chamber.
