摘要

We analyzed the beta subunit gene of mitochondrial ATPase (atpb) from 14 genera and 32 species of bamboos in Japan. Three independent clones were obtained from 4 species, and 2 independent clones were obtained from 11 species. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that atpb clones were classified to three groups (Groupl, Group2 and Group3). Analyzed region contains one intron, and GroupS atpb clone had longer intron with ca.10 bp than the other two groups. Two groups, Groupl and 2, were very similar to eachother in not only exons but also introns. RT-PCR analysis showed that Group2 clone was expressed in leaves and shoots in Moso-bamboo, whereas Group3 clone was not or less expressed in both tissues. These results indicate that bamboo and sasa have threeclones with different expression.
