Is Canada's Anti-Corruption Law in Step with International Trends?

In conclusion, increased attention and enforcement of the Canadian anti-corruption law, the CFPOA, is consistent with international law enforcement trends. Canada has become more committed, at the highest levels, to being in step with the priority of enforcement given by the Americans under the FCPA and the UK under the UK Bribery Act. This article has reviewed recent amendments to the CFPOA, and the trends in enforcement through prosecutions of commercial organisations and individuals. The second part of this article has provided some guidelines for corporations doing business beyond the territorial boundaries of Canada on how to establish business integrity and anti-corruption management systems.
