摘要

The main demands placed on direct reduced iron are full control of metallization, totally recoverable carbon and safe transportability. The Danarex process developed by Danieli aims at complying with these requirements by separating the reduction and carburisation process to independently control the metallization degree and the carbon content. With the introduction of an external vessel for cooling the product the complete cone can be used for the carburisation reactions with the aim of setting the best condition for the formation of iron carbide. The concept was tested in a pilot plant at Hazen Research Inc., Denver; Co. The results confirmed the reliability of the process and the effectiveness of the separation of the reduction and carburisation reactions.
