Azovstal Integrated Iron-and-Steel Works'," located in Mariupol city, Donetsk oblast, at Azov Sea coast. It has own port facilities. Azovstal was commissioned in mid-1933. The main products of Azovstal are rails, heavy sections and plates. Azovstal is Ukrainian monopolist in production of plates from low-alloyed and special steels, steels for bridge and ship building, high-pressure boilers, thick strip for pipes. Share of Azovstal in Ukrainian metallurgical products is as follows: pig iron - 14.9 percent, steel -14 percent, rolled steel-16 percent. Azovstal partners are RAO Gazprom, TYSSEN, FEROSTAAL, Wagner, Siemens, Duferco SA (Switzerland), Samsung, Metalsasia (Hong Kong). Design capacities of Azovstal Integrated Iron-and-Steel Works are around 6/06 tpy pig iron, 7m tpy steel, around 4.6m tpy rolled steel. The enterprise structure includes: Sintering plant, including two sintering facilities, is obsolete and small in capacity (commissioned in 1953-1957). The plant design capacity is 1.744m tpy sinter. The latest reconstruction of the plant was conducted in 1996, in 2003-2004, the next reconstruction was realised.
