Current tests for mink Aleutian Disease (AD) rely on antibody detection via iodine agglutination (IAT) or counter electrophoresis (CEP). It has been shown that eradication of positive reactors using these tests, preferably CEP, can free a herd of disease. Although CEP is highly effective, a more desirable test would probe for the presence of actual virus.
