The next important phase in poinsettia production is getting those cuttings properly established after planting. For some of us, we have let someoneelse root the cuttings while we went to the cottage on vacation. Now it is important to think about all the aspects crucial to rapid establishment as the cuttings arrive from the propagator. For sprinters, getting a good jump or push out of the starting blocks is very important because usually the individual with the beststart out of the blocks wins the race. Poinsettia production is no different. If the cuttings don't get off to a good start, the crop has to be pushed hard to reach the finish line. Crop growth and quality usually suffer if the crop fails to get off to agood start.
