I took over the role of Editor-in-Chief of Gastroenterologie Clinique et Biologique in mid-2010 and, with a new team of editors, I have assumed the responsibility of transforming the journal into a dedicated international platform for original contributions, news and discussions at the interface of the basic sciences of hepatology and gastroenterology, as well as for all clinical aspects of liver and digestive diseases. Six months are clearly too short a time for the new editorial policy to have a major impact. However, starting in January 2011, the new name of the journal will be Clinics and Research in Hepatology and Gastroenterology, a name that highlights one of its major goals ? to serve as a bridge between the bench and the bedside by covering the novel aspects of clinical practice as well as research in the field of liver and digestive diseases. To this end, in addition to original articles, our intention is to introduce new sections that will welcome papers such as commentaries, mini-reviews, clinical observational studies and high-quality didactic papers.
