Development of diffuse psoriasis with alopecia during treatment of Crohn's disease with infliximab

Antitumor necrosis factor (TNF) agents are used in avariety of chronic inflammatory diseases, including psoriasis.Paradoxically several cases of new-onset or worseningof psoriasis have been reported with this therapeutic agent.Although a few cases of psoriasis of the scalp have beenreported [1], psoriasis associated with alopecia is very rare.Only two cases have been reported with adalimumab [2] andnone with infliximab.We report a case of diffuse psoriasis resulting in extensivealopecia in a 32-year-old man being treated with infliximabfor Crohn’s disease.
