LLC Balakovo Minerals Fertilizers (BMF), part of the PhosAgro Group, produced 1.28 million tonnes of phosphate fertilizer and feed phosphates during 2010, 9.2% (108,400 tonnes) above the 2009 level. This was only the second time that aggregate production by the company has exceeded 1 million tonnes. The growth in production was due to a number of factors, including the opening of a new sulphuric acid plant (IC-650) and diversification in the fertilizer product output. DAP production increased by 25.3% or 108,500 tonnes to 537,700 tonnes.
