摘要

Reduced performance in fish fed high-soy feeds has been blamed on antinutrients, low methionine content and palatability issues. Pretreatment to inactivate anti-nutritional compounds and supplementation with amino acids improves soy-based feed performance, but not to control levels. After 14 years of selective breeding, a line of rainbow trout grows rapidly on a high-soy diet and also does not develop distal enteritis. Combined with advanced bio-informatics, the trout phenotype can be a tool to further explore mechanisms of fish growth and health.
