Soy Protein Concentrate Replaces Fishmeal In Spotted Rose Snapper Diets

The authors set up a feeding demonstration at a cage farm in Costa Rica to evaluate the partial replacement of fishmeal in diets for spotted rose snappers with soy protein concentrate (SPC) containing over 55% protein, low antinutritional factor content and low trypsin inhibitor activity. Inclusion of SPC at up to 26.4% in the diets did not affect snapper production parameters. There was no significant difference between the performance of fish fed an SPC-based diet and those that received commercial fishmeal-based diets.
