Comparing different forecasting systems for fire blight.

The forecasting systems Feuerbra and Anlafbra were compared with the Billing revised system (BRS) and Maryblyt system in different orchards. The orchard specific forecasting program Anlafbra showed that time of bactericide application could be adjusted depending on disease resistance of the apple or pear variety, and also by late symptom appearance. Erwinia amylovora was forecasted better with Anlafbra compared with Billing revised system (BRS) and Maryblyt forecasting. Feuerbra offered a simpler version of the Anlafbra programme but it was not as specific as Anlafbra.
