摘要

Gaining too little or too much weight in pregnancy increases the risk of complications. Women who gain too little are more likely to give birth to a low birthweight infant or deliver early. Women who gain too much are more likely to develop diabetes or hypertension in pregnancy; their babies are more likely to be heavier at birth, which increases the risk of delivery complications and cesarean section delivery and the risk that the child will become obese in the future. Women who gain too much in pregnancy have a harder time losing weight after the baby is born and are more likely to become obese themselves.
