Biosafe ginseng: a novel source for human well-being.

摘要

Pilot-scale bioreactor cultivation of adventitious roots of ginseng and increased production of bioactive phytochemicals are reviewed. The techniques employed for and the economic and safety aspects of producing phytochemicals via cell culture are discussed, together with developments in pilot-scale bioreactor modelling and generation of artificial adventitious roots. Also considered is recent advances in the use of adventitious roots grown in bioreactors in medicine and nutrition.
