摘要

Polyoxometalates (POMs) are a vast class of polynuclear molecular oxide anions usually formed by W, Mo, or V. These clusters are interesting since their assembly through polymerized metal-based polyhedra can yield molecules that span the molecular to nanoparticle size range and form colloidal aggregates. This capacity to span large size ranges, coupled with their attractive electronic and molecular properties, gives rise to a variety of applications in diverse fields such as catalysis, medicine, and materials science.
