Trieloff et al. question Renne's [1] choice of ~(40)K radioactivity data compilation, and contend that age constraints from some meteorites are adequate to provide a lower bound on the ~(40)K decay constants. Intertwined with this argument is the implication that the thermal history of Acapulco meteorite is sufficiently well known to establish that it cooled more slowly over its argon retention interval than did certain other meteorites which give apparently older ~(40)Ar/~(39)Ar ages.
