Results of an irrigation trial carried out with kiwifruits in Italy are presented. Three irrigation systems were compared: drip irrigation, microjet irrigation under canopy and a combination of both. The same water volumes (determined with an A class evaporimeter, adjusted with the kiwi cultural coefficient - Kc) were applied to the three treatments. The hydraulic efficiency of all systems was satisfactory, with low pressure, with a good drop distribution both in the drip and in the microjet system, while in the combination system the distribution was fairly good. Construction and management costs were higher in the microjet system compared to the drip. The depth reached in the soil by irrigation water was maximum with the drip system and minimumwith the microjet. The combined system gave intermediate results. The combined system gave the highest yield of kiwifruit.
