Results of studies on the lethal effects of gamma radiation, applied to eggs and larvae of Galleria mellonella L. are reported. The effects have been determined as mortality of embryos after eggs irradiation and as total mortality of larvae and pupaeafter larvae irradiation. The data obtained from experiments with eggs indicated increase of the embryonic radioresistance following the progress of embryogenesis. The egg hatch was completely prevented by treatment with dosage of 65 Gy. At first larvaefollowed the same dependency i.e. increase of the radioresistance until forth larval in-star with the increase of the dose. However, during the larval development was recorded a decrease of radioresistance and the most sensitive were larvae from the lasttwo instars. 100% total mortality was obtained by treatments with 140 Gy (L_(1-4)), 110 Gy (L_(5-6)) and 100 Gy (L_(7-8)). Pupation was prevented after irradiation by dosage of 200 Gy. The parameters LD_(50) and LD_(100) were determined. The obtained results are discussed.
