The present study compares the in vitro germination capacity of pollen grains from six sunflower fertility restorer doubled haploid lines before and after irradiation with 600 Gy and 900 Gy gamma-ray doses, which have been applied for parthenogeneticinduction in sunflower. In vitro germination was observed in all investigated lines, the variation percent being within the limits from 12.67 % to 52.97 % according to the genotype. The y-irradiation doses partially altered the percent ratios of germination between the individual pollen sources. The best in vitro germination capacity was demonstrated by line R5 before and after treatment with the gamma-irradiation doses. The manifested germination potential was lowest in pollen sources Rl and R2.
