The purpose of this study was the psychometric validation of the revised two-factor Study Process Questionnaire (Biggs, Kember and Leung, 201) in first grade university student's sample, by using analysis elements including correlation methods, internal reliability, and confirmatory factor analysis methods. Internal reliability outcomes (Cronbach's alpha) from deep and superficial scales, as well as derived subscales meet the criterion for social sciences; inter-scales' correlation studies guarantee the two factorial structure of the instrument, as well as the comparison of subscales, showing significant correlations in all of the cases. Concerning comparisons mean tests (t tests), outcomes are adjusted to predictions of the model being tested: high grades' students obtain the biggest scores in deep approach, while low grades' students obtain the biggest scores in superficial approach. At last, confirmatory factorial analysis supports the model: it is formed by two second order factors: deep and, superficial approach, with a negative and significant correlation of -.43, and each of them composed of two first order factors (Deep and superficial component of motives and strategies). Goodness of fits indicators, both statistically and practically, supports the proposed model.
