The X-ray structure of 1',1'''-dinaphthylmethylbiferrocenium BF_4 has been determined. The ~57Fe Mossbauer and EPR results of 1,1'''-dinaphthylmethylbiferrocenium BF_4 and PF_6 salts are also reported. The relatively minor perturbations caused by the counterions have pronounced effects on the rate of intramolecular electron transfer.
