SGL Carbon Group/SIGRATHERM~R Sandwich Insulation Cylinders, Insulation Boards and Insulation Problem Solutions for High-Temperature Furnaces

For the design and construction of insulation in high-temperature furnaces like inert-gas and vacuum furnaces, hot isostatic molding presses for the production of special ceramics, crystal-pulling machines for the semiconductor industry, etc., SGL Carbon recommends S1GRATHERVP insulation cylinders and SIGRATHERM~R insulation boards. These insulation cylinders are made by winding up various layers of SIGRABOND~R ceramic fiber reinforced carbon (C/C), SIGRATHERM~R flexible graphite felt and SIGRAFLEX~R graphite foil. One-piece cylinders with up to 2,000 mm in diameter and up to 2,500 mm in length are thus produced. Larger sizes are available as multipart cylinders. The insulation boards are also made of various layers of S1GRATHERM~R flexible graphite felt, SIGRAFLEX~R graphite foil and SIGRABOND~R carbon fiber reinforced carbon (C/C), and are then molded under pressure. The 1,524 X 1,219 mm standard boards permit edge-free furnace lining and help reduce blend.
