Report of the IAL seminar on cure in leprosy 14 february 2009; Konark, Orissa.

摘要

A group of 45 people, involved at different points in the spectrum of the management and control of Leprosy in India, met together at Konark, Puri District of Orissa, in a seminar on 'cure in leprosy' organized jointly by Indian Association of Leprologists (IAL), ILEP and Leprosy Cell of Govt. of Orissa. The group had representation from a variety of people working for leprosy control in the states of Orissa, TN, WB, Maharashtra. They included eminent leprologists like Padmashree Dr R Ganapati from Bombay Leprosy Project, Dr Jaydev Sahu, Dr HK Kar, Prof and HOD of Dermatology, Ram Monohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi, who is also presently President of IAL; representatives from ILEP , LEPRA, Professors, Associate Professors of Dermatology from medical colleges of Orissa and experienced clinicians treating leprosy patients in the different parts of the State, Director, RLTRI, Aska, Orissa, Ex-WHO State NLEP coordinator, ILEP coordinators, State Leprosy Officials, Districts Leprosy officers from all 30 districts of State and Experts in Public Health. The Seminar, therefore, brought together a unique mix of scientific, clinical, grass-root and governance experience.
