摘要

Studies carried out to find the acute toxicity of abamectin and indoxacarb against spotted boll worm, Earias vittella revealed an LD50 value of 0.00233 and 0.09270 micro g larva-1, respectively. Discriminating dose was fixed for the same after assessing the susceptibility of the insect by culturing the insect through a number of generations without insecticide exposure so as to have a susceptible population. The discriminating doses were fixed as 0.013 and 0.80 micro g larva-1 for abamectin and indoxacarb, respectively which can be used in resistance monitoring programmes further.
