In an experiment conducted to study the efficacy of mycoinsecticides and chemicals against Lipaphis erysimi infesting Indian mustard, the treatments comprised: 2.0 kg Verticillium lecanii/ha; 2.5 kg Beauveria bassiana/ha; 0.005% imidacloprid; 0.05% acephate; 1.0 kg V. lecanii/ha + 0.0025% imidacloprid; 1.0 kg V. lecanii/ha + 0.025% acephate; 1.25 kg B. bassiana/ha + 0.0025% imidacloprid; 1.25 kg B. bassiana/ha + 0.025% acephate; 0.000375% azadirachtin. Imidacloprid and acephate were most effective against L. erysimi. V. lecanii at half concentration with acephate or imidacloprid at half the recommended dose was as effective and economic as the recommended chemical insecticides acephate 0.05% and imidacloprid 0.005%.
