Promotional Activities In Domestic Market - July to August 2013

摘要

The domestic promotion of coffee in India is important as it provides stabilized market in India itself for Indian Coffee rather than depending purely on export market. The promotion creates awareness for establishment of coffee processing units and coffee cafes which provide employment to the local population and also enrich the economic activity of the region. The consumption of coffee in the domestic market, which was around 2% for the most part of 1950-2000 period, has started to pick up from 2000 onwards and is reported to be increasing at about 5% per annum. In order to sustain this trend Coffee Board participates in a number of domestic fairs and exhibitions to create the awareness and also encourage entrepreneurs. At these exhibitions, information on coffee as a product, processing of coffee, roasting of coffee and coffee making is shared with visitors who are curious to know about coffee.
