Thanks to a growing focus on quality, we've seen many arabica coffees go from commodity level to now commanding substantial prices. Competitions at origin like 'Taste of Harvest1 and 'Cup of Excellence' have propelled this growth in no small way. As awhole, arabica coffee quality still has more room for improvement, but the progress it has made in the past 20 years has been substantial. However, now there are many in the specialty coffee industry who hope to see the same changes manifest in a bean we all love to hate: robusta.
