The United States of America is the largest consumer of coffee in the world accounting for nearly a quarter of the total coffee consumed in the world. Per capita consumption of coffee in the USA stands about 4.2kg per annum. The retail value of the U.S. coffee market is estimated at $30-32 billion during 2012. Recent reports by the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) indicate that and the Specialty coffees represent 37% of US coffee cups consumed with nearly 50%of the value share.
