Mass Contact Program conducted at Heggala Betoli Villages In Virajpet Liaison Zone

The Heggala and Betoli villages in Virajpet Liaison Zone that fall in heavy rainfall areas of the zone are predominantly inhabited by poor and illiterate tiny growers each having a coffee holding of less than 2 Ha. In this area, factors like highly acidic soils due to leaching, failure of showers at critical time, poor level of technology adoption, lack of skill and interest, poor infrastructure etc are contributing to the low productivity of coffee.
