Mackenzie Marine and Towage: WA marine services provider keeps Esperance safe and efficient

Mackenzie Marine and Towage (MMT) is a third generation family-owned company founded by the late Don Mackenzie in 1972. The company began operations as a harbour towage and pilot service in Esperance, Western Australia, with Don utilising his existingfishing boat and commissioning the company's first dedicated tug, the 'Cape Le Grand', to carry out the towage operations. The company grew, with Don's sons Hugh and Fud at the helm, and with innovation and a desire to provide the most efficient tug service possible introduced newer and bigger capacity tugs to the fleet. Hugh and his son Sean are now directing the company, and with over 85 years' experience in the marine towage industry they now have thirteen vessels in the fleet, with a new build tugdue this year.
