Australia Day, 2004, saw Joe Glamocak and the crew at Adelaide Ship Construction International (ASCI) put on a spectacular launching ceremony for their latest 22 metre "New Generation" Peter James-designed prawn trawler, 'Frank Cori'. A large crowd turned out for the auspicious holiday occasion, including a contingent of Cape Homers, there to honour the launch of Maurice Corrigliano's new vessel (with 18 months time served in windjammers, Maurice is, in fact, President of the Cape Homers Association). There were the usual speeches by politicians of major parties, but more importantly was that by the owner, Maurice Corrigliano himself. During his acceptance speech he explained that the new vessel was named in honour of his father, Frank Corrigliano, and his outstanding contribution to the fishing industry in South Australia. This involved a long struggle that included the establishment of Safcol, where he was President, and other pioneering work. Father Grealy blessed the vessel, and the crowd was provided with a lavish feast and refreshments, accompanied by the traditional live music from "Cobbers".
