The Hart Marine story begins in the earl) 1980s with the enthusiasm and capabilities of Managing Director Mai Hart, the company's founder, leading him to establish a boat building business that has grown and prospered from its humble beginnings. Mai Hart is a born-and-raised "Peninsula" identity with a good solid maritime background, having grown up around Crib Point and Hastings in Tasmania, where his father was Harbour Master. He sailed, lived and breathed boats from his earliest memories, and on leaving school he undertook an apprenticeship to a boat builder who went broke prematurely cutting his apprenticeship short.
