The individual's impact on the profession. Being a lifelong advocate for the profession is the best gift a nurse can give to the future. The Career Handoff provides guidelines, stories and experiences for all healthcare professionals to pass their knowledge and wisdom on to future generations and for emerging generations to add value to the profession.This proactive approach will strengthen our profession. Engagement between generations can achieve effective translation and application of what matters most to future generations. Meanwhile, letting go of rituals and routines, that are no longer relevant can be a blessing for professionals in all walks of life.
