A mere ten years ago,Bollag et al.demonstrated that cytotoxicity of epo-thilones is a result of their ability to disrupt the intrinsic dynamics of micro-tubules.This recognition initiated intense chemical and biological analyses of this previously neglected class of substances,the momentum of which continues to this day.
