The recent studies of Kubiak and co-workers in which they were able to identify the existence of charge-transfer isomers are important contributions to the field of mixed-valence chemistry.The work establishes charge-transfer isomers as identifiable chemical entities that exist in dynamic equilibrium determined by electron transfer on the picosecond time scale.Mixed-valence compounds are generally odd-electron systems and are composed of two or more reduction/ oxidation(redox)centers.The odd electron is able to exchange between the two redox centers either by photoinduced or thermal electron transfer depending upon the extent of electronic coupling between the two redox centers.For thermal electron transfer,three absolute
