The Nazarov reaction is a well-established method for the generation of new cyclopentenone rings from simple dienone precursors.This reaction has enjoyed considerable recent attention with regard to its use in tandem or domino processes,as well as in approaches for controlling the absolute configuration of the stereocenters generated during or after the electrocyclization process.
