Organic azides (RN_3) have received extensive attention recently because of their central role in several "spring-loaded" reactions that have been dubbed "click chemistry".In organometallic chemistry,azides have been used extensively for the preparation of imido (M=NR)complexes,in which dinitrogen is released as byproduct.
