A μ_4-Peroxo Complex of Antimony: Synthesis and Structure of (o-Tol_2SbO)_4(O_2)_2

Peroxides of main group elements usually contain the dioxy-gen group as a bridging unit (μ-O_2) in the arrangement E-O-O-E. The quadruply bridging arrangement has been observedonly twice in transition metal com-plexes. We report here on the synthesis and the structure of 1 (o-Tol = o-tolyl), the first main group element peroxide with μ_4-O_2 coordination. The known organoantimony peroxides have been described as μ-O_2-compounds.
