摘要

In biological systems,cytochrome c (cytc) is bound to its partners (cytochrome c reductase and oxidase) through electrostatic interactions between positively charged lysine residues (Lys) of cytc and acidic residues of the partners.Cytc (M_r= 12400) has 19 lysines and two arginines as the basic residues and 12 acidic residues (aspartic -and glutamic acids).At pH 7.0,cytc (isoelectric point (pI) = 10.4) has nine positive charges in its ferric form.Therefore,many artificial,anionic receptors of cytc have been devised as recognition elements of the protein surface that bind with cytc through electrostatic interactions.
