Cyclic organic polymers are challenging synthetic targets, and such materials show interesting and important differences in physical and chemical properties compared to their linear counterparts. Although inorganic macrocyclic species have received significant attention, examples of cyclic inorganic polymers are quite scarce. Organometallic macrocycles are even less common, and cyclic organometallic polymers are extremely rare.
