Transition-metal complexes of Group 13 elements,and especially of boron,have attracted considerable interest over the last decade.A wide variety of coordination modes have been characterized structurally and investigated theoretically.In particular,the possibility for Lewis acids ER_3 (E = B,Al...) to behave as sigma-acceptor ligands has been demonstrated,although examples of such M->ER_3 interactions remain very rare.
