The stereoselective formation of carbon-halogen bonds is an important challenge in organic synthesis that has recently received considerable attention due to the usefulness of the products as versatile synthetic intermediates.Furthermore,halides are often introduced into pharmaceutical compounds to decrease the rate of metabolic degradation without affecting the pharmacological effects.
