摘要

Despite numerous investigations on phosphanes and phosphides since the determination of the crystal structure of Hittorf s phosphorus only assumptions have been made concerning the existence and especially the structure of further al-lotropic forms ofred phosphorus. A concrete model for this polymorph was put forward very recently by Haser and Bocker based on theoretical methods. They proposed a thermody-namically stable helix consisting of condensed five- and six-membered rings only. Nevertheless,this allotrope has not yet been obtained in a crystalline state, possibly because difficulties associated in the packing of such helices result in amorphous solids.
