1,2-Distanna[2]- and 1,2,3-Tristanna[3]- ferrocenophanes

[n]errocenophanes, in which the two cyclopentadienyl ligands are connected by an intramolecular bridge of n - 1, 2, or 3 links, have attracted interest as monomer precursors for the ring-opening polymerization (ROP) to metal-containing polymers. In addition, they can serve as models for the study of molecular dynamics and for the study of the reactivity of element-element bonds in the bridge as a function of the more or less strained bonding situation.
