摘要

Cyclodextrin inclusion complexes often exhibit useful properties,such as enhanced chemical stability,fluorescence efficiency,and solubility.An inclusion complex of this type can be converted into a kinetically robust rotaxane by attaching bulky stoppers to both ends of the threaded guest,permanently locking it inside the Cyclodextrin.The hydrophobic effect is the main driving force for threading,so it is convenient to synthesize these rotaxanes in water,although this limits the range of chemistry available for covalent coupling.
